The musical life of Anton Ludwig Wilhalm, born in 1966, began at the age of eleven. Even though he had to fight and work hard for many things, it soon became clear that music was not just a hobby. And so his path led him from the local music school to the conservatory in Innsbruck and then to the conservatory in Augsburg and the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. He was active in various orchestras and ensembles in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. As a prize-winner at the international wind instrument competition in Passau, he has made various radio and television recordings and sound recordings. When Ludi is not playing with Bolzano Brass, he can be heard as a soloist with organ, in the Munich Salon Orchestra Tibor Jonas or in the St. Moritz Spa Orchestra. As an enthusiastic and inspiring music teacher, he also ensures that there is never a shortage of good young trumpet players.

Trumpet, accordion, drums, saxophone, guitar, vocals, arrangements

Robert Neumair had his first contact with his father's accordion at the tender age of one and a half. A year later, he was already smiling at the camera with a hat and his own instrument. At the age of three, the time was ripe for his father to teach him how to elicit beautiful sounds from a real "Steirische". And it works so well that the young musician is soon able to present himself in public. No wonder that Robert needed a new musical challenge at the age of six, which he found at the piano with Bruno Elzenbaumer, the best teacher he ever had according to Robert. He also began trumpet lessons a year later. At the age of 13, he switched to Prof. Erich Rinner at the conservatory in Innsbruck and later gained important experience for his future musical career as a trainee in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 2004, he has been the trumpeter of the Deutsche Radiophilharmonie Saarbrücken. He also works as a composer of film music, orchestrator and arranger. With Bozen Brass, Robert is able to live out his musical talent to the full: He plays several instruments and also takes care of all the arrangements (click here for more infos). When time allows, he also plays with friends in the Chemietuttn or gives music lessons.

Trombone, guitar, vocals

Martin gained his first musical experience on the guitar. When he was eleven years old, however, he wanted to learn a "real" instrument, namely the trumpet. However, as there were already enough trumpets in the local band in St. Andrä, he decided to learn the trombone, first at music school, then at the Bolzano Conservatory and finally at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree from Prof. Dany Bonvin in 2015. During his studies, he had the opportunity to play in various orchestras, for example in the orchestra of the Tyrolean Festival Erl or as a substitute with the Haydn Orchestra in Bolzano. So that music can remain his hobby, Martin now works as a software developer at ASA Hotelsoftware.

trumpet, bass flugelhorn, vocals

It all started while herding cows on the Alpe di Siusi. There, in his early childhood years, Manuel marveled at the sound his cousin made on the trumpet. This was the impetus for him to attend the Seis music school and learn to play the trumpet with his current Bozen Brass colleague Anton Ludwig Wilhalm. After completing his carpentry apprenticeship and commercial high school, he decided to turn his hobby into a profession. This was followed by studies at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory (bachelor's degree in trumpet under Prof. Lothar Hilbrand in 2013) and at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz (master's degree with a focus on pedagogy under Prof. Bernhard Bär and Sasa Dragovic). In addition to Bozen Brass, Manuel also plays in various other ensembles, including the groups "Stommtischar" and "Kraxn", which is a traditional dance music group that mainly performs folk music from the Sciliar region and the Alps. Manuel has been teaching at German and Ladin music schools in South Tyrol since 2015.

Horn, Marching Horn, Gesang

After just two drum lessons at the local music school, Benjamin made up his mind: Sounds must be made! After this realization, he switched to one of the most demanding brass instruments, the horn, at a young age. Benjamin has also been a member of the Durnholz music band for many years, for which he works with great enthusiasm as president. In his musical past, Benjamin has taken part in various projects at home and abroad and has played in several orchestras with different instrumentation. In addition to his musical training, Benjamin first graduated from the "Max Valier" technical high school in Bolzano before earning a bachelor's degree in mechanical and industrial engineering with a focus on logistics and production and a master's degree in business management and innovation at the Free University of Bolzano. While still at university, Benjamin decided to study horn at the conservatory in Bolzano with Professor Norbert Stertz and Luca Benucci. Benjamin currently works full-time as a project manager, but his heart truly beats for music.
